Hello world! We are JASP Services BV, a company recently founded by eleven members of the 2025 JASP team. We help businesses move away from commercial stats software and towards JASP.
Why We Founded JASP Services BV
In operation since 2012, JASP is open-source statistical software with an intuitive graphical user interface. Entirely for free, with no strings attached, JASP allows users to execute the very same analyses that are available in commercial alternatives. Over the years, we added more functionality to JASP, including tools particularly relevant for manufacturing and quality control (e.g., Montgomery, 2019). As a result, businesses worldwide began reaching out with requests for service and support. However, within a university context—focused on education and research—we could not meet this demand. This is why we created JASP Services BV: to assist companies take full advantage of JASP.
What Analyses Are Possible in JASP?
JASP offers a comprehensive suite of statistical methods, including both standard tools such as regression and ANOVA, and modern tools such as machine learning and predictive analytics. A complete feature listing is available here. For businesses interested in quality control, the Quality Control module features measurement systems analysis, control charts, capability analysis, and design of experiments.
While JASP already covers most statistical needs, we are continuously expanding the toolkit based on user feedback and evolving demands. If there is a method missing that a company needs, then they can put forward a feature request. This brings us to the next topic.
Key Advantages for Business
- Zero-cost, open-source licensing. JASP is free to use on all company computers, with no licensing fees or restrictions. Its open-source nature means long-term freedom from vendor lock-in.
- Transparency and trust. The underlying code is fully open to inspection—no black boxes.
- Community-driven development. A global network of developers and researchers actively improves JASP, often incorporating user feedback into regular, high-quality releases.
- User-friendly interface. The dynamic GUI offers immediate feedback and supports “progressive disclosure,” helping users avoid information overload (Wagenmakers et al., 2023).
- Robust, expanding business functionality. Modules like Quality Control, Audit, and Predictive Analytics are specifically designed to meet industry needs.
- Enhanced IT safety. JASP runs locally and as of version 0.95.0 is sandboxed to protect your system from unwanted intrusions.
- Dedicated support. With JASP Services BV, companies gain access to prioritized support, private issue trackers, and custom feature development. As noted in the bible of quality control:
Service and support from the software supplier (…) are always important factors in deciding which software package to use” (Montgomery, 2019, p. 315)
As mentioned in our mission statement, we believe in forming true partnerships with our clients—mutually beneficial relationships that are focused on support and collaboration. Our aim is to enhance JASP with service that is as reliable, responsive, and innovative as the software itself.
