Onboarding

JASP is designed to make statistical analysis both accessible and intuitive for users at all levels of experience. To help new users get started quickly and confidently, JASP offers a range of onboarding materials tailored to different learning preferences. An obvious starting point is the Getting Started guide, along with the How to Use JASP page—both of which walk users through installation, data input, and running basic analyses. Additionally, the JASP YouTube channel features a growing library of video tutorials that cover a variety of statistical techniques and software features.

JASP offers comprehensive help files accessible by clicking the ‘i’ icon at the top of each analysis panel. These help files explain the input options, cite the R packages used, and include relevant academic references.

JASP regularly releases educational resources to support learning and application of the software in real-world contexts. A prominent example is the book Discovering Statistics Using JASP, authored in collaboration with renowned statistics educator Prof. Andy Field. This resource offers a comprehensive, student-friendly introduction to statistics using JASP. For more advanced users, the JASP team provides specialized workshop materials that explore topics like meta-analysis and Bayesian hypothesis testing (see the Workshop section for details). JASP also includes the JASP Data Library—a built-in collection of datasets that users can explore to practice analyses and better understand statistical methods. The Data Library can also be accessed online without downloading JASP.

JASP is backed by a vibrant and engaged community of users, researchers, and developers. Technical discussions, feature requests, and bug reporting are actively managed on GitHub, while questions about specific analyses can be shared and answered in the JASP Forum.

For personalized and customer-specific assistance, the JASP Team provides dedicated support through JASP Services Support. Customized onboarding sessions can be arranged to meet the unique needs and workflows of your team or organization.
